ܐܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܦܘܠܘܣ ܒܥܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܒܢܝܚܘܬܗ ܘܒܡܟܝܟܘܬܗ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ ܕܐܦܢ ܒܐܦܝܢ ܡܟܝܟ ܐܢܐ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܟܕ ܪܚܝܩ ܐܢܐ ܬܟܝܠ ܐܢܐ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ
elykwn 'n' thkyl 'n' rkhyq kd 'l' lwthkwn 'n' mkyk b'pyn d'pn dmshykh' wbmkykwthh bnykhwthh mnkwn 'n' be' pwlws dyn 'n'
Now I Paul, myself, entreat you by the humility and gentleness of Christ; I who in your presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you.

ܒܥܐ ܐܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܡܐ ܕܐܬܝܬ ܐܬܐܠܨ ܒܬܘܟܠܢܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܠܝ ܕܐܫܝܚ ܐܝܟ ܕܡܬܪܥܐ ܐܢܐ ܥܠ ܐܢܫܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܚܫܒܝܢ ܠܢ ܕܐܝܟ ܕܒܒܣܪ ܡܗܠܟܝܢܢ
mhlkynn dbbsr d'yk ln dkhshbyn 'ylyn 'nsh' el 'n' dmthre' 'yk d'shykh ly d'yth bthwkln' 'th'lts d'thyth m' dl' mnkwn dyn 'n' be'
Yes, I beg you that I may not, when present, show courage with the confidence with which I intend to be bold against some, who consider us to be walking according to the flesh.

ܐܦܢ ܒܒܣܪ ܓܝܪ ܡܗܠܟܝܢ ܚܢܢ ܐܠܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܕܒܣܪܐ ܦܠܚܝܢܢ
plkhynn dbsr' hw' l' 'l' khnn mhlkyn gyr bbsr 'pn
For though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh;

ܙܝܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܕܦܠܚܘܬܢ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܕܒܣܪܐ ܐܠܐ ܕܚܝܠܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܒܗ ܟܒܫܝܢܢ ܚܣܢܐ ܡܪܝܕܐ
mryd' khsn' kbshynn wbh d'lh' dkhyl' 'l' dbsr' hw' l' dplkhwthn gyr zyn'
for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds,

ܘܣܬܪܝܢܢ ܡܚܫܒܬܐ ܘܟܠ ܪܘܡܐ ܕܡܬܬܪܝܡ ܠܘܩܒܠ ܝܕܥܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܫܒܝܢܢ ܟܠ ܬܪܥܝܢ ܠܡܫܡܥܬܗ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ
dmshykh' lmshmethh threyn kl wshbynn d'lh' ydethh lwqbl dmththrym rwm' wkl mkhshbth' wsthrynn
throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;

ܘܡܛܝܒܝܢܢ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܬܒܥܬܐ ܡܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܡܫܬܡܥܝܢ ܡܐ ܕܐܬܡܠܝܬ ܡܫܬܡܥܢܘܬܟܘܢ
mshthmenwthkwn d'thmlyth m' mshthmeyn dl' 'ylyn mn thbeth' lmebd wmTybynn
and being in readiness to avenge all disobedience, when your obedience will be made full.

ܒܦܪܨܘܦܐ ܚܝܪܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܐܢ ܐܢܫ ܬܟܝܠ ܥܠ ܢܦܫܗ ܕܕܡܫܝܚܐ ܗܘ ܗܢܐ ܢܕܥ ܡܢ ܢܦܫܗ ܕܐܝܟ ܕܗܘ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܦ ܚܢܢ
khnn 'p hkn' dmshykh' dhw d'yk npshh mn nde hn' hw ddmshykh' npshh el thkyl 'nsh 'n 'nthwn khyryn bprtswp'
Do you look at things only as they appear in front of your face? If anyone trusts in himself that he is Christ’s, let him consider this again with himself, that, even as he is Christ’s, so also we are Christ’s.

ܐܢ ܓܝܪ ܐܦ ܡܕܡ ܝܬܝܪ ܐܫܬܒܗܪ ܥܠ ܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܕܝܗܒ ܠܝ ܡܪܢ ܠܐ ܒܗܬ ܐܢܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܒܢܝܢܐ ܗܘ ܕܝܠܟܘܢ ܝܗܒ ܠܢ ܘܠܐ ܠܣܘܚܦܟܘܢ
lswkhpkwn wl' ln yhb dylkwn hw dlbnyn' mTl 'n' bhth l' mrn ly dyhb shwlTn' el 'shthbhr ythyr mdm 'p gyr 'n
For though I should boast somewhat abundantly concerning our authority, (which the Lord gave for building you up, and not for casting you down) I will not be disappointed,

ܡܗܡܐ ܐܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܐܣܬܒܪ ܐܝܟ ܗܘ ܕܡܕܚܠܘ ܡܕܚܠ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܐܓܪܬܝ
b'grthy lkwn 'n' mdkhl dmdkhlw hw 'yk 'sthbr dl' dyn 'n' mhm'
that I may not seem as if I desire to terrify you by my letters.

ܡܛܠ ܕܐܝܬ ܐܢܫܐ ܕܐܡܪܝܢ ܕܐܓܪܬܐ ܝܩܝܪܢ ܘܚܣܝܢܢ ܡܐܬܝܗ ܕܝܢ ܕܓܘܫܡܐ ܟܪܝܗ ܘܡܠܬܗ ܫܝܛܐ
shyT' wmlthh kryh dgwshm' dyn m'thyh wkhsynn yqyrn d'grth' d'mryn 'nsh' d'yth mTl
For, “His letters”, they say, “are weighty and strong, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech is despised.”

ܐܠܐ ܗܕܐ ܢܬܪܥܐ ܡܢ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܕܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܝܬܝܢ ܒܡܠܬܐ ܕܐܓܪܬܢ ܟܕ ܪܚܝܩܝܢܢ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܝܬܝܢ ܐܦ ܡܐ ܕܩܪܝܒܝܢܢ ܒܥܒܕܐ
bebd' dqrybynn m' 'p 'ythyn hkn' rkhyqynn kd d'grthn bmlth' d'ythyn d'ykn' 'mr dhkn' mn nthre' hd' 'l'
Let such a person consider this, that what we are in word by letters when we are absent, such are we also in deed when we are present.

ܠܐ ܓܝܪ ܡܡܪܚܝܢܢ ܕܢܚܫܘܒ ܐܘ ܕܢܦܚܡ ܢܦܫܢ ܥܡ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܡܫܒܗܪܝܢ ܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܗܢܘܢ ܒܗܘܢ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܦܚܡܝܢ ܠܐ ܡܣܬܟܠܝܢ
msthklyn l' mpkhmyn lhwn bhwn dhnwn mTl 'l' npshhwn dmshbhryn hnwn em npshn dnpkhm 'w dnkhshwb mmrkhynn gyr l'
For we are not bold to number or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves. But they themselves, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are without understanding.

ܚܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܠܐ ܡܫܬܒܗܪܝܢܢ ܝܬܝܪ ܡܢ ܡܫܘܚܬܢ ܐܠܐ ܒܡܫܘܚܬܐ ܕܬܚܘܡܐ ܕܦܠܓ ܠܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܢܡܛܐ ܐܦ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ
lwthkwn edm' 'p dnmT' 'lh' ln dplg dthkhwm' bmshwkhth' 'l' mshwkhthn mn ythyr mshthbhrynn l' dyn khnn
But we will not boast beyond proper limits, but within the boundaries with which God appointed to us, which reach even to you.

ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܓܝܪ ܐܝܟ ܕܠܐ ܡܬܡܛܝܢܢ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܡܬܚܝܢܢ ܢܦܫܢ ܥܕܡܐ ܓܝܪ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܡܛܝܢ ܒܣܒܪܬܗ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ
dmshykh' bsbrthh mTyn lwthkwn gyr edm' npshn mthkhynn lwthkwn mthmTynn dl' 'yk gyr hw' l'
For we don’t stretch ourselves too much, as though we didn’t reach to you. For we came even as far as to you with the Good News of Christ,

ܘܠܐ ܡܫܬܒܗܪܝܢܢ ܠܒܪ ܡܢ ܡܫܘܚܬܢ ܒܥܡܠܐ ܕܐܚܪܢܐ ܐܠܐ ܐܝܬ ܠܢ ܣܒܪܐ ܕܟܕ ܪܒܝܐ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܟܘܢ ܒܟܘܢ ܢܬܪܘܪܒ ܐܝܟ ܡܫܘܚܬܢ ܘܢܬܝܬܪ
wnthythr mshwkhthn 'yk nthrwrb bkwn hymnwthkwn rby' dkd sbr' ln 'yth 'l' d'khrn' beml' mshwkhthn mn lbr mshthbhrynn wl'
not boasting beyond proper limits in other men’s labors, but having hope that as your faith grows, we will be abundantly enlarged by you in our sphere of influence,

ܐܦ ܠܗܠ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܠܡܣܒܪܘ ܠܐ ܒܡܫܘܚܬܐ ܕܐܚܪܢܐ ܒܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܬܩܢܢ ܢܫܬܒܗܪ
nshthbhr dmthqnn b'ylyn d'khrn' bmshwkhth' l' lmsbrw mnkwn lhl 'p
so as to preach the Good News even to the parts beyond you, not to boast in what someone else has already done.

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܕܡܫܬܒܗܪ ܒܡܪܝܐ ܢܫܬܒܗܪ
nshthbhr bmry' dmshthbhr dyn hw
But “he who boasts, let him boast in the Lord.”

ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܓܝܪ ܡܢ ܕܢܦܫܗ ܡܫܒܚ ܗܘ ܗܘ ܒܩܐ ܐܠܐ ܡܢ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܢܫܒܚܝܘܗܝ
nshbkhywhy dmry' mn 'l' bq' hw hw mshbkh dnpshh mn gyr hw' l'
For it isn’t he who commends himself who is approved, but whom the Lord commends.
